History
The SRAC Group has been the market leader in certification and conformity assessment services in Romania for over 30 years, and is also recognized as one of the reference certification bodies in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Romanian Society for Quality Assurance was established in 1993, and the certification body – from which the SRAC acronym originates – performed its first accredited certification in 1996. With strong roots in quality assurance processes within the energy and nuclear sectors, SRAC has actively contributed to the development of Romania’s national quality infrastructure, quickly becoming one of its key pillars.
As the economy and the certification services market evolved and management systems diversified, SRAC played a pioneering role. The organization was the first certification body to introduce and promote a range of innovative management standards and systems on the Romanian market, while also developing conformity assessment services in regulated sectors with a significant impact on the business environment.
A defining milestone in SRAC’s international development was 2002, when, following a rigorous evaluation, the organization was accepted as Romania’s representative in IQNet, the world’s most prestigious international network of certification bodies. As a result, organizations certified by SRAC receive, free of charge, the globally recognized IQNet certificate.
Today, the SRAC Group offers a broad portfolio of accredited services, including:

These activities are supported by a network of over 300 auditors and experts, whose competencies are recognized at both national and international levels.
In the context of the transition towards a sustainable economy, SRAC supports and promotes responsible business practices, offering specialized services in the fields of sustainability and energy efficiency, including:
- verification of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/2067;
- EMAS verification;
- ISCC certification – applicable globally;
- verification and validation of GHG statements in accordance with ISO 14064-1 and ISO 14064-2;
- verification of product carbon footprints in accordance with ISO 14067;
- verification of climate neutrality claims in accordance with ISO 14068-1:2023;
- SRAC ECOLABEL, in accordance with ISO 14024.
SRAC is also active on the international market, with certificates issued in more than 25 countries, including: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Colombia, Croatia, Denmark, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Malta, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Montenegro, the Republic of Moldova, Slovenia, Spain, the United States of America, the Netherlands and Uruguay.
