Why SRAC
SRAC is accredited by RENAR on the verification of greenhouse gas emission reports and tonne-kilometre reports (certificate no. OV 006).
This verification has the goal of reaching an opinion regarding the verification with the reasonable assurance that the data presented by the organization that owns the installation generating GGE in the emission monitorisation reports:
- are correctly declared (e.g. The report does not contain significant errors);
- are in compliance with EU ETS permit and with the monitoring plan for installations.
Why GHG Verification
All installations that are under the incidence GD 780/2006 establishing the greenhouse gas emission allowance trading scheme, amended and completed, have to elaborate a yearly Report for greenhouse gas emission.
The complete, consistent, transparent and accurate monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions, in accordance with the harmonized requirements laid down in EU Regulation no. 601/2012 of the Commission, are fundamental for the effective operation of the greenhouse gas emission allowance trading scheme established pursuant to Directive 2003/87/EC.
The operator or aircraft operator shall submit to the competent authority by 01 March of each year an emission report that covers the annual emissions of the reporting period and that is verified in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 600/2012.
